BOWLS ENGLAND’S CLUB OF THE YEAR 2021
Kingswood and Hanham Bowls Club is a very friendly and successful club, and we are going from strength to strength. We have recently been given the Bowls England 2021 Club of the Year award!
The Green and Clubhouse are located at the bottom of Kingswood Park, Bristol, with entrances from Hollow Road and Orchard Road. We have an excellent clubhouse which includes a well-stocked bar, changing rooms and a sunny terrace. It is also used for social events during the summer AND during the winter. 2018 & 2019 saw us undertake a complete refurbishment of the outside of the clubhouse and we are grateful for the help and support of South Gloucestershire Council in helping us with this modernisation. The social areas of the clubhouse and the honours boards were re-decorated and renewed in 2017, and the new external cladding was completed in June 2018. Since then, we have upgraded most of our internal decoration. 2020 saw us install a completely new kitchen, and we have created more changing room and storage space. Both have made a really big improvement to our facilities.
New members are always welcome, with or without bowls experience! Why not come along and give it a try? We are a very friendly club and play on average 4 friendly matches a week all over Bristol and places further afield like Chippenham, Tetbury, Burnham and Frome. We also compete regularly in local and national competitions.
